Rangers expert issues bold Antonio Colak prediction – ‘they will be watching’
Alan Hutton is adamant Antonio Colak will be part of Croatia’s squad for next month’s World Cup if he continues his form at Rangers.
The former Gers and Scotland defender, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claimed decision-makers will be happy with the 29-year-old’s “development” since joining the Ibrox club in the summer window.
Colak scored a brace against St Mirren on Saturday (8 October) – his sixth goal in three Scottish Premiership games.
The former PAOK hitman has now registered 13 strikes and two assists across 17 games this term.
Colak, who cost Rangers a reported £1.8million plus add-ons, has been capped just three times by 2018 World Cup runners-up Croatia.
His last involvement for his country came in qualifying for this year’s tournament back in September 2021.
Hutton insisted the forward, who is contracted until 2025, is deserving of a recall.
He told Football Insider: “He’s doing excellently.
“He’s had exactly the impact Rangers were hoping for.
“The key for him will be to play well for Rangers and get himself into the World Cup squad for Croatia – and he’s doing himself no harm.
“He’s scoring plenty of goals and I’m sure the national team will be watching and will be very happy with his development.
“You’d hope, if his form continues, that he’d make the squad. I think he deserves it.”

Rangers sit second in the Scottish Premiership, two points behind rivals Celtic.
The Gers are next in league action against Motherwell on Sunday (16 October).
