Rangers expert makes ‘huge’ Nicolas Raskin claim after latest

Alan Hutton has claimed Nicolas Raskin will have a “huge decision” to make between Rangers and Leeds United.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Gers defender is hopeful Raskin will choose Ibrox but is aware of the “big draw” of the Premier League.

According to Dutch outlet Voetbal Nieuws (20 December), Standard Liege are keen to offload the 21-year-old, whose contract expires in the summer.

There has been interest in the midfielder from numerous European clubs including Club Brugge and Barcelona as well as Leeds and Rangers, who had been linked with Raskin in the summer.

The Belgian is said to have been banned from training at Standard Liege by former Celtic boss Ronny Deila for refusing to sign a new contract.

When asked who Raskin would choose between Leeds and Rangers, Hutton told Football Insider:It is a hard one.

My loyalties lie with Rangers but I also understand how big a draw the Premier League is.

It is a huge decision for any footballer when you are trying to decide your future. We will have to wait and see but both clubs are really big and would arguably be great options.

Raskin joined Standard Liege from Genk in 2019 and has been touted at the next big talent for Belgium.

The youngster has made five appearances for the Red Devils’ under-21 side.
