Rangers expert sure on Malik Tillman agreeing deal as new details emerge – ‘it will be a steal’
Alan Hutton has urged insisted activating Malik Tillman’s buy option would be “a steal” for Rangers.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Gers defender insisted Tillman is the exact type of player the club need moving forward.
The 20-year-old joined the Light Blues in the summer on a season long loan deal from Bayern Munich that includes an option to buy.
The midfielder has become an important part of Michael Beale’s side since his arrival and has made 39 appearances across all competitions this season, scoring 12 goals and providing five assists.
As shown on Sky Sports (2 April), Tillman was the only goalscorer in the Gers’ 2-0 win over Dundee United on Saturday.
As quoted by the Rangers Review (1 April), Beale said that sporting director Ross Wilson is “speaking to Bayern” and the Gers “want to activate” to option to buy.
When asked if the Light Blues should make Tillman’s deal permanent, Hutton told Football Insider: “Definitely.
“I think they are talking around £5million.
“The talent is there for everyone to see and I think the one thing we need to remember is that he is only a young boy, so there is going to be inconsistencies with his performances, that is just normal at that age.

“I think because everybody has seen what he is capable of you just expect it week in, week out. There is room for improvement there so I think he fits the mould of Michael Beale and what he wants the team to look like moving forward.
“I think if they could get him for that price I think it would be a steal really.“
