Rangers expert taken aback by Fabio Silva twist – ‘I’m still thinking about it’

Fabio Silva’s “comical” tumble for Rangers in the Scottish Cup semi-final sums up his inconsistency.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Gers and Aston Villa defender Alan Hutton was baffled to see Silva, 21, seemingly dive in the box against Hearts on Sunday (21 April).

Footage showed the striker receive the ball from Cyriel Dessers inside the box in the closing stages of the game, but he fell to the ground under no pressure from the Hearts defence and squandered a chance to make it 3-0.

Silva has underwhelmed during his six-month loan move to Ibrox having scored just four goals in 19 appearances in all competitions while Football Insider revealed (5 April) that Wolves will accept an offer for him this summer.

Silva has been ‘inconsistent’ for Rangers – Hutton

Hutton was baffled by the incident and urged the Portugal under-21 international to improve his finishing.

“I have no idea what happened with Silva- I’m still thinking about it,” he told Football Insider.

“Cyriel Dessers rolls the ball across to Silva and he just needs to put it in the back of the net.

“I have no clue what happened with Silva – was he expecting contact?

“Do his feet get muddled up? It was comical.

“Just tap it in! His finishing hasn’t been good enough.
