Rangers expert unimpressed after two more deals agreed
Rangers players won’t care about the changes behind the scenes at the club.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Gers defender Alan Hutton said that when he was a player, changes to the club’s hierarchy never had an impact on the playing staff.
The Light Blues have confirmed numerous changes to senior staff positions in recent months following a mass exodus of board members in recent months.
On 1 June, Football Insider revealed that finance director Kenneth Barclay was leaving Ibrox as part of a boardroom shake up.
Barclay follows chairman Douglas Park, sporting director Ross Wilson and CEO Stewart Robertson out the door at Rangers among several other senior exits.
On Monday (26 June), the Gers confirmed the appointment of Karim Virani as chief commercial officer as the club’s restructure gets underway.
Virani was previously chief commercial officer for Premier League side West Ham and has worked with Man City, Paris Saint-Germain, Barcelona, AC Milan, Arsenal and Juventus.

When asked if such big changes to the hierarchy can negatively affect the players, Hutton told Football Insider: “I can only think from my point of view and whatever football club I was at, when I was playing it did not affect me at all.
“Unless you are talking about a takeover with somebody else coming in, new players could potentially come in, that is the only real time that you would think about it. Apart from that it does not really cross your mind.“
In other news, Rangers in very advanced talks to sign Brighton forward.
