Rangers fans are fuming as their ‘biggest fear’ explained – McAvennie
Rangers fans are right to be worried about the team’s performance against Celtic.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Hoops striker Frank McAvennie said last weekend’s derby match was the perfect chance to repay fans after their disappointing Champions League performance.
Michael Beale side took on their Glasgow rivals at Ibrox last Sunday (3 September) in the first meeting of the season and were beaten 1-0.

Although the Gers had more possession and attempts at goal, they were unable to find a response to Kyogo Furuhashi’s first half strike.
The Gers boss was berated by fans following the final whistle and headed straight up the tunnel.
As quoted by the Sun after the game (3 September), Beale said that he understands the frustration from supporters but insisted his team will get fans back onside by winning games of football.
The manager claimed that fans won’t “value performance and effort” and will only be happy with him in charge when they start winning games.
McAvennie insisted Beale’s side have to start putting in better performances.
“The fans are annoyed at the performance that the side put in,” he told Football Insider.

“They had the chance to go and do something, even if they went out there and got beat at least they were doing something but they weren’t at the races.
“Sometimes you can be the better team and get beat, or you can be up there level but they were not even close to Celtic. I think that is the biggest fear for Rangers supporters.“
