Rangers fans destroy ‘shambles’ Nicolas Raskin after what he did v Celtic
Rangers fans have slammed Nicolas Raskin after his performance in the Scottish League Cup final defeat v Celtic at Hampden Park.
Philippe Clement’s side led at half-time thanks to a finish from Nedim Bajrami, but saw the game flipped on its head after Celtic found the net twice in four minutes through Greg Taylor and Daizen Maeda.
A second-half finish from Mohamed Diomande saw the scoreline leveled, before late drama saw Nicolas Kuhn score what he thought was the winner, and Danilo equalised just one minute later.
With the scoreline tied 3-3 after 90 minutes, the game was taken to extra time and eventually penalties, where the Hoops ran out as the victors.
Despite a number of lacklustre displays on the day, it was Raskin who took the majority of the stick from the supporters given he was at fault for both of the goals.
Celtic’s first game via a huge deflection after a lazy block left Jack Butland wrongfooted as the ball rolled past him, while it was a poorly weighted back pass from the midfielder which set up Maeda to put the Hoops ahead.
These errors came off the back of a dominant midfield display against Tottenham, with his inconsistency in the middle of the park earning him plenty of stick during his time at Ibrox.
Now, he will take the blame for Rangers’ collapse in the second half at Hampden Park after they threw away a 1-0 lead thanks to multiple individual mistakes.

Clement’s record against Celtic remains dismal, with the boss yet to pick up a victory in the Old Firm derby despite Rangers’ impressive first-half display at Hampden Park.
Individual errors will be blamed for the eventual result, but pressure on the manager’s position is also likely to intensify after the opportunity to pick up silverware was spurned.
Raskin has faced most of the flack after fans took to social media following his error-stricken second-half, labelling him “shocking” and a “shambles”.
