‘Launch those in the bin’ – Rangers fans lose their minds over tweet from club

Rangers somehow managed to land themselves in hot water with some of their fans on Monday after posting a Tweet promoting Puma’s latest boots – with Gers fans furious the Ibrox giants were advertising green boots.

As part of their sponsorship deal with sportswear giants Puma, the Gers sometimes post promotional tweets on their official account and, after tweeting Puma’s latest boot range, Light Blues fans were furious the boots were the same colour as bitter rivals Celtic’s kit.

After being slammed last week after announcing an “official vaping partner,” the latest ad from the Ibrox giants managed to somehow go down even worse.

Gers fans were not impressed – with one fan asking who “sanctioned” the tweet.

Here are some of their comments on Twitter:

While the boots aren’t the Gers’ normal colourway, there will no doubt be one or two in the Gers squad wearing the boots this weekend when the Light Blues face Dundee at Ibrox.

The Ibrox giants could find themselves in third-place in the Scottish Premiership by the time they face Neil McCann’s side with Aberdeen facing Motherwell at Fir Park on Tuesday night.

With an Old Firm Scottish Cup semi-final clash coming up the following week, the Gers will be desperate to get back to winning ways against Dundee after failing to win any of their last three games.

In other Rangers news, Neil Lennon has revealed he has “major concerns” over potentially facing Rangers three times at Ibrox.
