‘Has no place’, ‘Disaster’ – Rangers fans react as talks for rookie boss reportedly start

Rangers fans on Twitter have given a mixed reaction to the news that Barry Ferguson is being lined up to be a part of the new Ibrox coaching set-up.

The Scottish Sun has reported that the Gers have started to go into in talks about making a move for Ferguson, 39, to be the new No 3 to Derek McInnes, who is expected to be approached by the Glasgow giants this week.

It is understood that Pedro Caixinha had previously snubbed Ferguson to become a part of his backroom staff after interviewing him, but now it seems that the former Rangers player is in line to make a “sensational” return to Ibrox.

And judging by the fans’ reaction on Twitter, it seems that the majority would prefer if if the ex-Clyde manager sticks away from the club.

Here is a selection of their tweets:

Ferguson has been out of a job since February when he quit his role as Clyde manager.

The rookie coach spent three years in charge of the Cumbernauld club and has also had a caretaker stint at English side Blackpool.

The Scottish Sun has also reported that Rangers will make a move for McInnes soon and that a potential £1million compensation fee is on the cards.

In other Rangers news, Alan Brazil has claimed that this Premier League chief has firm interest in a role at Ibrox after a £300million bid is made.
