‘Murty out’ – Rangers fans rage over decision ahead of clash v Kilmarnock

Newly-confirmed short-term Rangers manager Graeme Murty has named his first starting XI since being handed the reins until the end of the season – and fans are not happy to see Lee Hodson starting at left-back.

The Gers travel to Rugby Park to take on Kilmarnock in the Scottish Premiership and Murty has made two changes to the side which lost to St. Johnstone last week.

Ryan Jack and Bruno Alves have come out of the side with Hodson and David Bates taking their place, as confirmed by the Gers official Twitter account.

A win for the Gers would see them overtake Aberdeen in second in the Scottish Premiership ahead of the Dons’ trip to Celtic Park later on Saturday.

The the decision to re-introduce Northern Ireland international Hodson at left-back has many fans expecting a defeat before a ball is even kicked with one wanting “Murty out” already as a result.

Here are some of their comments on Twitter:

The Light Blues are three points behind Derek McInnes’ side and would leapfrog them – albeit possibly only for a few hours – on goal difference.

The Ibrox side have two games left in 2017 after today’s clash with Kilmarnock with Motherwell visiting Ibrox on Wednesday before a trip to Celtic Park for the second Old Firm of the season.
