Rangers fans: Robin Propper out for ‘months’ after ‘disaster’ v St Johnstone

Rangers fans think Robin Propper will be ruled out for “months” after he was forced off with an injury in the Scottish Cup win against St Johnstone.

Philippe Clement’s side will progress to the next round after securing a 2-0 victory at Hampden Park, but were dealt a “huge” blow when the defender limped off.

Following injuries to Oscar Cortes and Ridvan Yilmaz already this season, Clement’s squad is slowly being picked apart.

This has led to increased frustration from the crowd at Hampden Park after enduring a turbulent summer before a poor start to the season both on and off the pitch.

Propper, a new arrival from Dutch outfit FC Twente earlier this summer, was tipped as a key signing at the heart of Rangers’ defence after Connor Goldson’s exit.

However, an injury just five games into his career in Glasgow has dealt an early blow to that plan.

A win in the Scottish League Cup will be overshadowed by the blow to Propper, adding to the frustration building amongst Rangers supporters.

Two draws, one win and a defeat before tonight’s win have begun to build frustration at Hampden Park, and the latest blow is set to pile onto that misery.

Fans flocked to social media after Propper limped off the pitch, insisting the club is “cursed” and a “disaster” while his injury will come as a “huge” blow to their season.
