Rangers fans make huge statement ahead of new Premiership campaign
By Abigail Withey
Rangers fans have put their faith behind the new-look team and manager Pedro Caixinha – the opening home game of the new Premiership season at Ibrox is already sold out.
Newly-promoted Hibernians will be travelling to Ibrox on August 12 and if you haven’t got a ticket yet you’re going to be disappointed.
The clash will be the Light Blues’ second game of the Premiership season after facing Motherwell away at Fir Park on Sunday, before hosting Neil Lennon’s side the following week.
In between they host Dunfermline in the Scottish League Cup.
The Glaswegian side’s Supporters Liaison Officer Greg Marshall announced on his official Twitter that the game was a ‘sold out Saturday’.
After a miserable last season, fans will be hoping that Caixinha’s changes can fire Rangers to a title challenge – he has been busy strengthening the squad this summer.
The Portuguese manager has brought nine new players in, including Bruno Alves and Graham Dorrans, and everyone will be keen to impress in the league in front of their home fans for the first time.
Three points from Motherwell this coming weekend will ensure the atmosphere is that much louder.
In other Rangers transfer news, they are ready to push the button on two new signings.
