Rangers fans thrilled by James Tavernier and Connor Goldson news

Rangers supporters online have expressed excitement over the potential departures of experienced duo James Tavernier and Connor Goldson from the club.

Club captain Tavernier and centre-half Goldson have been linked with a reunion with former Gers boss Steven Gerrard at Al-Ettifaq in the Saudi Pro League, and many fans at Ibrox believe it is time to move on from the duo and rebuild the squad entirely.

Tavernier, 32 – who scored 24 goals in 58 appearances last season – could command a £10m fee according to Alan Hutton, speaking exclusively told Football Insider [15 June].

Football Insider also revealed on 17 June that Goldson was high on Gerrard’s list of priorities and Rangers are fearing they will lose the 31-year-old, who played 48 times last term.

Gerrard was the man who originally issued the captaincy to Tavernier six years ago, with the former Ibrox manager looking to improve on a sixth-placed finish in the Saudi table.

Rangers supporters are showing little sentiment towards the long-serving duo online, as the club sparked reactions this week with their pre-season training posts.
