Rangers fans ‘upset’ by confirmed Ryan Kent news – expert

Alfredo Morelos and Ryan Kent have “upset” Rangers fans.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Gers defender Alan Hutton said the pair could have brought in “a lot of money” if they had been sold before the expiration of their contracts.

Both players have left Ibrox following the expiration of their deals this summer.

Last week (12 June), Turkish side Fenerbahce confirmed the signing of Kent following his Rangers exit.

Both Morelos and Kent had been beloved by fans over the years but suffered from a downturn in form in recent seasons.

Despite the pair opting to run down their contracts instead of penning extensions, neither have left a farewell message to the club as they move on.

Whilst fellow departing player Scott Arfield took to his social media to share his thanks to the club, neither of his former teammates have opted to do so.

Hutton understands the fans’ disappointment in Morelos and Kent.

They have been there for a long period of time, they have done well for the club,” he told Football Insider.

You would expect a farewell message, it has not really happened but it is just one of those things. Everybody is different.

Rangers

I understand from the fans’ point of view and why they are annoyed, especially when they could have brought in a lot of money and they did not. That is probably a lot to do with it as well.

Me personally I am not too bothered about it but I understand why fans get upset.
