2. Lewis Macleod
Macleod’s rapid ascent to the first-team was maybe accelerated by the first-team stars who walked out but the midfielder grabbed his chance with both hands and excelled in the senior side.
For a while many hoped Macleod and Barrie McKay would be the cornerstone of the Gers team for years to come but the talented youngster ended up being sold out from under the manager’s feet in a cut-price move.
Despite having some major injury problems during his time at Ibrox, Macleod was often a level above his senior team-mates and had Gers fans excited to watch him progress.
Some of the goals Macleod scored during his time at Ibrox were simply way beyond what a teenager should be expected to deliver at a club like Rangers.
