McCulloch was one of the senior players who chose to stay with the club after the transfer to Charles Green’s newco and was made club captain following Carlos Bocanegra’s departure.
Jig was an integral part of the club throughout the turmoil of 2012 and 2013 and scored goals for fun in the Third Division before being gradually moved further back and ending up in central defence.
The former Wigan star helped the Gers climb into the Championship before being let go as Mark Warburton came into the club.
A huge figure in the dressing-room at the time and someone whose contribution, arguably, goes massively under-appreciated.
