Rangers have escaped ‘unscathed’ as John Lundstram details emerge – expert
Alan Hutton is relieved Rangers have got through a difficult spell “unscathed”.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Gers defender urged the Light Blues to keep focussing on the game in front of them, not the overall league table.
As quoted by the Daily Record (26 December), John Lundstram said his side are not concentrating on the nine point gap to Celtic.
The 28-year-old said his side are just trying to win every game and trying to get better.
The Bears have won all of their games under new boss Michael Beale but it hasn’t been the prettiest.
Two goals deep into stoppage time were needed for the Gers to claw back a win against Aberdeen on 20 December.
The Glasgow giants also had to come from behind against Hibs to secure all three points.
Hutton insisted the side can’t be thinking about Celtic.
“You have to focus on yourselves,” he told Football Insider.
“It will be in the back of your mind there is no getting away from it. You can’t just switch it off.
“The nine point gap is there but you have to focus game by game and I think that is what they have done relatively well.
“It has been a difficult period. Even though they have won all their games it has still been tough. They have come through that unscathed.

“I think that was the main point Michael Beale was trying to get across. Take each game as it comes and then the Old Firm game will take care of itself.
“One aim was to come through all these games, winning them all but the most important game is the next one.“
