Rangers have just pulled off a great signing after Bacuna reveal – Hutton
Alan Hutton has claimed Juninho Bacuna’s arrival from Huddersfield “ticks all the boxes” for Rangers.
The former Ger, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, insisted the 24-year-old would be a “good signing” after what he’s seen and heard from Juninho’s brother Leandro.
Rangers confirmed Bacuna’s arrival on Thursday (August 19th), with the midfielder signing terms until 2023.
Hutton believes that the 24-year-old will add extra quality to the Gers squad, potentially freeing up stars Joe Aribo and Ianis Hagi to shine in other roles.
“Steven Gerrard wanted a midfielder in and I think this is a good deal,” he told Football Insider‘s Russell Edge.
“It’s not a huge fee, so this move ticks all the boxes. It gives you industry in midfield, he can get up and down the pitch, and he’s powerful.
“I’ve seen him play at Huddersfield and I know his brother quite well, so he’s from a good background.
“It’s a good move for him to come to a big club like Rangers.
“He can knit the midfield together. Gerrard has used Hagi and Aribo in that attacking midfielder position. He will be glad to have more strength in depth.
“Bacuna will have to adapt to the atmosphere and pressure of playing at a club like Rangers, but overall it’s a good signing.”
Bacuna made 102 league appearances for Huddersfield after joining from Groningen in 2018, scoring 12 goals.

He played 43 times in the Championship last term as Huddersfield narrowly avoided relegation to the third tier.
Gers boss Gerrard has been active so far in the summer window, bringing four players in to bolster the title-winning squad of last season.
In other news, Noel Whelan believes Rangers “hold all the cards” with this youngster angling for an exit.
