Rangers have made costly error after social media reveal – ‘they can’t afford that,’ says pundit

Frank McAvennie understands fans frustration with Rangers sporting director Ross Wilson after numerous failed signings.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Celtic striker insisted the Gers can’t afford to keep making costly recruitment mistakes.

Nnamdi Ofoborh, 23, joined the Light Blues from Bournemouth in 2021 but due to a heart issues has not played a single minute for the Ibrox club.

On 12 March Ofoborh shared a cryptic social media post calling out the “mistreatment” has has received over the last two years.

The midfielder has been taking part in light training at Auchenhowie and at home due to advice from club specialists.

As quoted by The Herald (16 March), boss Michael Beale insisted the club are doing everything they can to support the player.

Beale was at Rangers when they signed Ofoborh and was “in and around” the scouting of the former Bournemouth man and was “excited” about his potential.

McAvennie wasn’t surprised by another failed signing at Ibrox.

That is just another thing Rangers do not need. They just cannot afford to do that.
