Rangers in talks to sign Stanley N’Soki – sources

Rangers are in talks with German club Hoffenheim over a loan deal for defender Stanley N’Soki, sources have told Football Insider.

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed that Rangers boss Philippe Clement is pushing for a reunion with the 25-year-old he coached at Club Brugge.

The Glasgow club are looking to reinforce the heart of their defence following Ben Davies‘ loan move to League One side Birmingham City.

The French centre-back is regarded as a player capable of stepping straight into the starting eleven, with Rangers having only three first-team options in that position.

Since making the move from Clement’s Club Brugge to Hoffenheim, N’Soki has struggled to nail down a position in the German’s starting eleven.

With only 33 appearances for Hoffenheim, 10 of which were off the bench, the draw of first-team football may be enough for Rangers to lure him to the Ibrox.

A versatile defender with pace, N’Soki is more than capable of filling in at right-back over his preferred central position when needed.

Clement’s side look set to have a busy end to the transfer window as they seek the challenge rivals Celtic for the Scottish Premier League title.

Football Insider revealed (August 30) that the club are keen on bringing Sassuolo midfielder Nedim Bajrami to Ibrox as a replacement for Todd Cantwell.
