Rangers news: Alex Lowry rejects contract offer to throw his future into doubt – sources
Rangers sensation Alex Lowry has turned down a new contract at Ibrox, Football Insider can exclusively reveal.
The Glasgow giants are trying to secure the attacking midfielder, 18, to a three-and-a-half year deal.
But a Rangers source has told Football Insider that Lowry has rejected the club’s opening offer to throw his future at Ibrox up into the air.

The teenager is regarded as a player of huge potential and has already made three appearances after breaking into the first team this season.
Rangers want him to agree a deal running to summer 2025 and that would replace his existing agreement, which expires in 18 months’ time.
The club gave another of their top young talents Leon King a bumper deal last month to stay amid strong Premier League interest.
Lowry is also attracting interest from south of the border and Rangers are aware they can’t afford to let him run down his contract and leave in a cut-price cross-border deal.
One major advantage in negotiations is that Lowry is a Rangers fan and has come through the club’s ranks.
He was promoted to train with the first team at the turn of the year after being a standout for their Colts in the Lowland League.
The teenager made a scoring debut as he came off the bench in the Scottish Cup win over Stirling Albion.

Lowry also featured against Annan Athletic and made his Scottish Premiership debut as a starter in the 1-0 win over Livingston on 26 January.
He can play in various attacking positions, including behind the main striker and on the right and left wings.
