Rangers mainstay suffers injury bombshell, out for significant period – confirmed
Rangers striker Kenny Miller will miss a significant period of action after suffering a ruptured hamstring, it has been confirmed.
The Light Blues announced on their official Twitter account on Tuesday that Miller, 37, is facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines after he was stretchered off in the win against Hibernian last week.
Miller was forced out of the action in the 15th minute of the 2-1 win over Neil Lennon’s Hibs at Easter Road on Wednesday.
The Glasgow side confirms that the initial signs showed that the former Wolves and Celtic striker would not be sidelined for too long, however after a scan it was revealed that the problem is much worse than first feared.
Miller’s contract at Ibrox is up at the end of this season, so this injury bombshell may mean that the veteran striker may find it tough to earn much game time – if any – between now and the end of the campaign.
Although he is 37-years-old, Miller has been a mainstay of the Rangers first-team this season, making 18 appearances across all competitions.
Pedro Caixinha axed the forward and made him play with the Under-20s side earlier this term before Graeme Murty recalled him to the senior squad following the Portuguese boss’ sacking in October.
In other Rangers news, the Gers must make a move to sign this international winger after he was released by an English club.
