Rangers may be out of title race within a week after ‘incredible’ Celtic development – Mills
Rangers could be out of the title race entirely if they do not win their next couple of games, according to Danny Mills.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Premier League and England defender delivered his verdict after Celtic’s “great” win over Rangers on Wednesday (2 February).
Celtic’s 3-0 win over Parkhead puts them a point clear at the top of the Scottish Premership with 14 games to play.
The Gers are next in action on Sunday (6 February) when third place Hearts visit Ibrox.
They then travel to Hearts’ Edinburgh rivals Hibs in midweek and Mills has suggested they cannot afford to drop any more points in those games.
“It was a great result for Celtic,” he told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.
“Suddenly now the next few games are going to be key for Rangers. They play Hearts at the weekend, they need to win that.
“All of a sudden, incredibly, it could be a four-point gap and that’s a big swing in a short space of time.
“Rangers have got to make sure they beat Hearts, win that game and keep the pressure up.
“It’s good for the league. It makes it incredibly attractive.
“Postecoglou, who they weren’t quite sure about at the start and was bringing in some interesting signings, they are starting to see a decent coach who knows what he’s doing.”

Wednesday’s victory was Celtic’s first Old Firm win since December 2019 and their first in the league since September 2019.
The next Glasgow derby is scheduled for 3 April at Ibrox.
