Rangers may ‘change system’ after Alfredo Morelos development pre-Union Saint-Gilloise – pundit
Frank McAvennie has suggested Rangers will play both Antonio Colak and Alfredo Morelos in their upcoming Champions League qualifier.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Celtic striker said there is “no point” in trying to hold back in the return leg against Union Saint-Gilloise on Tuesday (9 August).
The Gers lost 2-0 in the first round of their Champions League third round qualifier against the Belgian side last Tuesday (2 August).
Morelos returned for Rangers in their league game against Kilmarnock on Saturday (6 August).
The 26-year-old scored from the bench to help his side secure a 2-0 victory.
As quoted by Football Scotland (6 August), Giovanni van Bronckhorst said it was “good” to have the Colombian back in the squad.
When asked who would likely start up front for the second leg this Tuesday, McAvennie told Football Insider: “I think Colak will play on Tuesday.
“The manager might play two of them and change the system. They’re 2-0 down there is no point in trying to hold back. They just need to go for it.
“As a player I’d rather get beat 3-0 or 4-0 than sit in and hold out for 2-0. The fans will be right behind them from the get go.

“So I wouldn’t be surprised if Gio plays the two of them. Morelos might last an hour or so but in that time they could get the two goals.
“It would be very strange if he just plays one of them when you need goals. I’ve got a feeling he’ll play the two of them.“
