Rangers may lose Joe Aribo to Premier League club after release clause twist – pundit
There will be plenty of Premier League clubs interested in signing Joe Aribo if he has a £10million release clause in his Rangers contract.
That is the view of ex-Premier League and Aberdeen forward Noel Whelan, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about Aribo’s future.
The 4th Official reported last week (29 June) that the 25-year-old has a £10million release clause in his current deal that expires in 12 months.

TalkSPORT then reported on Monday (4 July) he has rejected the offer of a new contract with Southampton interested in his signature.
“For Rangers, it would be a lot of money so that would go a long way to buying somebody else, maybe buying two or three players to replace him,” Whelan told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.
“It’s not a lot of money in the grand scheme of things for a player of that ability and at that age.
“Rangers have put that in there for a reason. They think they would accept £10million whether there is a clause in there or not.
“That will probably trigger some people’s thinking, especially in the Premier League because it’s not a massive amount of money or risk to take to bring in a player to strengthen a squad.
“If it’s in his contract, then it’s in his contract. If it’s triggered then Rangers will have to find a replacement as quickly as possible.”

Aribo played 57 times across all competitions for the Gers in 2021-22, scoring nine times and providing 10 assists.
He scored Rangers’ goal in their penalty shootout defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt in the Europa League final.
In other news, Jamie Vardy has been cited as Rangers confirm a new signing.
