Rangers midfielder near-certainty for Ibrox exit as Gerrard revolution kicks off

COMMENT

Rangers midfielder Jason Holt faces an uncertain future at Ibrox this summer as Steven Gerrard’s revolution kicks off – and the former Hearts star is almost certain to be on the way out as Gerrard clears the decks.

The midfielder joined the Light Blues in 2014 and helped the Gers return to the Scottish Premiership under Mark Warburton but has been in and out of the side since Warburton left and the addition of Scott Arfield to an already packed midfield makes it look even harder for him to get into the side.

Gerrard is already going to have massive decisions to make over the summer about his midfield is going to shape up and, despite his boundless energy and enthusiasm, amove away from Ibrox this summer would make sense for both the club and the player as they look to end Celtic’s recent dominance of the Scottish game.

Holt has been a good performer for the Gers during his time at the club and has never really let anyone down but there are serious doubts over whether he is good enough to be part of a side which mounts a sustained challenge for trophies.

There are likely to be even more additions this summer in midfield, likely making it even harder for Holt to hold down a place and now it would seem that his time at Ibrox is up.
