Rangers news: Aaron Ramsey tipped to dazzle in Europe after fresh Ibrox development – pundit

Danny Mills has insisted Aaron Ramsey will be “worth every penny” if he can lead Rangers into the final rounds of the Europa League.

The former England defender, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claimed the 31-year-old’s experience could be crucial to the Gers’ European chances.

Rangers will face Red Star Belgrade in the Europa League Round of 16 after coming through a two-legged playoff against German giants Borussia Dortmund.

Ramsey has missed Rangers’ last two games with a “minor knock”, with the club revealing on Sunday (20 February) that he is set to return to training later this week.

The Wales international joined the Ibrox club on loan last month, with the Glasgow giants reportedly covering £45,000 of his sizeable Juventus wage.

Mills insisted “no one will be worried” about the finances in the deal if Ramsey can inspire European success.

“If it doesn’t work out, it’s just the wages that they’ll be losing out on,” he told Football Insider‘s Connor Whitley.

“As long as they keep winning, it won’t be a huge issue – especially in the Europa League. If they can win two or three more games, they’ll be close to the final.

“Ramsey could come back in for those kinds of games, and he could actually make a massive difference with his experience.

“If he only plays four games but helps them get to a European final, no one’s going to be worried about the financial side. He’ll be worth every penny.”

Ramsey has managed just one start for Rangers thus far.

The midfielder missed 17 Juventus games through injury this term before joining the Ibrox club.
