Rangers news: ‘Brilliant’ Celtic won’t drop any more points this season – pundit

Celtic will win their Premiership title despite suffering a setback in their hunt for a domestic treble.

That’s according to former Leeds United stopper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about how the Hoops will respond to their loss.

Celtic lost 2-1 to Rangers in Sunday’s (17 April) Scottish Cup semi-final after extra time.

This result ended all hopes of the Hoops winning a domestic treble.

However, Celtic remain three points clear at the top of the table ahead of the final five games of the season.

Kenny is backing Ange Postecoglou’s side to win the league despite their setback in the Scottish Cup.

“Celtic, for me, are the better team,” Kenny told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“They have that massive advantage at the top of the league and I just don’t see them dropping points.

“Rangers have been very good, just look how they have done in Europe.

“For whatever reason, that hasn’t translated into the league so they are a bit further behind.

“Celtic also aren’t in Europe. They just have the league left and Rangers have two really hard games coming up in the Europa League.

“I can’t see Celtic dropping any points, and they are on a brilliant run of form in the league. I still think they will win the next Old Firm.

“They are the better team and they will be holding the trophy in a few weeks time. I’ve seen people say they will bottle it, I don’t think so.”

Rangers will take on Motherwell 24 hours earlier.
