Rangers news: Expert baffled by Connor Goldson update – ‘I really don’t get that’
Rangers defender Connor Goldson is not good enough to play in the Premier League amid links to Nottingham Forest.
That’s according to former Celtic hitman Frank McAvennie, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the defender’s future.
On 30 May, The Scottish Sun reported Nottingham Forest are “ready to step up their bid” to sign Goldson on a free transfer.

The 29-year-old is out of contract this summer and, as quoted by Football Scotland (20 May), Giovanni van Bronckhorst has admitted there is only a “small chance” Goldson will extend his terms in Glasgow.
However, McAvennie insists Goldson isn’t good enough to play in the Premier League.
“I really don’t get that. I don’t think he’s Premier League quality,” McAvennie told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“Look at the cup final against Frankfurt. Their goal came right across him, he left it and they scored.
“You cannot do that. If he clears that ball they win the trophy.
“A newly-promoted team will have to do a lot of defending as well, I’m not sure he is that guy.
“He plays in a Rangers team that doesn’t do that much defending. It’s a free transfer so I guess that’s a selling point for Forest.
“I think they would be better off signing someone who has been there and done it in the Premier League.”
Forest earned promotion to the Premier League after beating Huddersfield 1-0 in Sunday’s (29 May) Championship play-off final.
They return to the top-flight for the first time since 1999.
