Rangers news: Glasgow pundit slams clueless Michael Beale as John Lundstram footage emerges
Frank McAvennie has claimed Michael Beale doesn’t know is best XI at Rangers.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Celtic striker has been impressed by the Gers’ ability to win games without playing well.
As shown on Sky Sports (23 December), John Lundstram scored the only goal as the Light Blues beat Ross County 1-0 last week.
The 28-year-old put Beale’s side 1-0 up inside the first half which ultimately sealed the victory for the visitors.
Lundstram was back into the starting XI against Ross County after having been benched for the previous game at Aberdeen.
The midfielder remained in Beale’s starting lineup for the 3-0 victory over Motherwell (28 December) and was replaced after 66 minutes.
Glen Kamara has also been in and out of the new manager’s team and after starting the game at Dingwall, he was benched for the game against Motherwell.
As quoted by the Scotsman (29 December), Beale said the team are not where he wants them to be and insisted they are not playing to their “potential”.
McAvennie has slammed Beale for his inconsistency in team selection.
“He has been chopping and changing since he arrived,” he told Football Insider.
“I do not know if that is to do with injuries or not but he obviously does not know his best XI.

“That is Lundstram out the team then all of a sudden he came back in and scored the goal last week and won the game.
“They are winning games without playing well which you have got to say fair play to.”
