Rangers news: McLeish reacts as controversial £3m offer reported – ‘who could refuse that?’
Rangers must accept shareholder Dave King’s £3million offer to cover the shortfall from pulling out of the Sydney Super Cup.
That is the view of former Gers manager Alex McLeish, who was speaking exclusively to Football Insider amid ongoing protests over the controversial plan.
Rangers are set to face Celtic outside of Glasgow for the first time as part of an Australia-based friendly tournament in November.

As reported by the Daily Record last Wednesday (23 March), former Gers chairman King has offered to cover the £3million Rangers will lose out on if they pull out of the tournament.
Widespread protests have been held on both sides of the Glasgow divide.
Some fans feel the integrity of the Old Firm fixture has been compromised.
McLeish suggested it would be best for the Ibrox club to withdraw from the controversial project.
“The players would like to see these protests made in a different way, I think,” he told Football Insider‘s Russell Edge.
“I don’t want to get involved in the political side of it, but hopefully they can sort out their differences.
“I did see that Dave King would make up any shortfall that Rangers could have if they were to pull out of this game.
“Who could refuse that? Don’t look a gift horse in the mouth, at the end of the day.”

Despite stepping down as chairman in 2020, King remains Rangers’ largest individual shareholder (15%).
The Gers sit three points behind rivals Celtic in the Scottish Premiership.
