Rangers news: Pundit can’t believe Kemar Roofe may be out v Celtic as BT footage analysed – ‘no way’
Noel Whelan has insisted there is “no way” Kemar Roofe will be missing for Rangers against Celtic on Sunday despite limping off against Braga.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Aberdeen striker claimed the physios would be working overtime to ensure the 29-year-old is fit for Sunday’s showdown.
As captured during BT Sports’ coverage of Thursday night’s game (14 April), Roofe, who scored the winner on aggregate, appeared in some discomfort around the 103-minute mark.

The striker was down on his haunches and limping around before being replaced by Fashion Sakala for the second half of extra time.
However, Whelan tipped Roofe to make a swift recovery ahead of Sunday’s cup semi-final against Celtic.
“It’s not great at the minute for Rangers when it comes to injuries, especially that forward line,” Whelan told Football Insider’s Russell Edge.
“But there’s no way Kemar Roofe’s going to miss this. I think he’s just milking it! He’s scored four goals in two games, there’s no way he’s going to be missing out on a semi-final in the cup when he’s in this run of form.
“He’s definitely going to want to play in that. They’ll be working hard to get whatever niggle it was sorted out for Sunday. Give him the rest and recuperation, physically, the player has to have.

“He’ll be ready, he’ll be there. There’s no way he’s missing that one. The physios will be working hard to give him that time and physio he needs to get out there on the field.
“Another big game, this is what you want to play in. This is why you enjoy playing football, for these massive games and semi-finals.”
In other news, Celtic will be “over the moon” with “huge” Rangers development.
