‘Rangers owners wait for fans green light over stunning double deal’
Rangers are plotting a stunning double deal for Real Madrid duo Davide Ancelotti and Luka Modric in the coming weeks.
Ancelotti has been heavily linked with the vacant managerial position at Ibrox, and has been identified as one of the leading candidates for the job.
Football Insider exclusively revealed on 17 May that Rangers have been impressed by Ancelotti’s credentials and work coaching and developing players and tactics on the training ground in Madrid.
As a result, a number of Los Blancos’ players including the likes of Modric have been tipped to follow him to Ibrox should he get the job.
Now, former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson told Football Insider that Rangers are planting stories in the media to gauge fan reactions to their new plans.
There is an acceptance that gambling on a manager who has no prior experience as the head coach is a gamble given the importance of their decision.

Rangers to make crucial Davide Ancelotti decision
Robinson previously told Football Insider that Rangers could sign Modric on a free transfer after he announced he was leaving the club upon the expiry of his contract.
A number of Real Madrid players have been impressed by the boss’ work on the training ground, which is a big reason for the Ibrox club’s interest.
Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Robinson explained that the club want to ensure they get the decision right.
“He [Ancelotti] is heavily linked along with Luka Modric,” he told Football Insider.
“The link of Modric shows what exciting times could be ahead for Rangers.
“The longer this goes, the more likely it’s going to be.
“Whether they’re talking behind the scenes or trying to get a general consensus and opinion from the fans, because it’s a big decision.
“To take the option to employ a manager who’s never managed before, with the reputation he has got, it’s stepping into uncharted territory.
“His CV and his ability stacks up, but he’s not tried and tested, they have to make sure they get it right.
“As a Rangers fans if you’re looking on social media and seeing you could get Ancelotti in as a manager and Modric in as a player or coach, you’re excited.
“So whether the Rangers board are waiting for reassurance and acceptance from the fans, I don’t know.“

Nicolas Raskin backed to make Premier League switch
Amid ongoing speculation about incoming players and a new manager, Rangers are also preparing for a potentially busy transfer window.
Former Man United and Blackburn chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider on 27 May that Nicolas Raskin is wanted by Premier League clubs.
However, it is unclear how advanced their interest is and whether any of the interested parties would be prepared to make a move early in the transfer window.
This comes after Football Insider exclusively revealed in March that Leeds United could sign Raskin with help from 49ers Enterprises after their Ibrox takeover.
