Gave possession away too often and couldn’t get into any sort of rhythm with Daniel Candeias down the right flank, which is unlike the former Newcastle man after his impressive form.
Seriously struggled when Celtic’s attackers ran at him and found himself on the back-foot more often than not.
Did not do enough as stand-in captain to get his team-mates going either as the game slipped away, on what was a bitterly disappointing afternoon for the defender.
