First game back at Fir Park after leaving Well to join Sheffield United five years ago but started off quiet as the Steelmen snuffed out the Gers’ attacking threat in the opening 45 minutes.
Scored the Gers’ second goal eight minutes after the break to level the scores and spark the game into life with a fantastic solo goal.
Murphy’s quick feet caused problems for Well’s defenders as the Gers pushed forward looking for a third goal.
