Rangers player ratings v Greenock Morton: 31-year-old is abysmal

COMMENT By Harvey Byrne

Football Insider rates the Rangers players during their 2-1 win over Greenock Morton in the Scottish Cup on Sunday.

Wes Foderingham 4 – Beaten too easily for the first goal. January signing Jak Alnwick will be hoping for an opportunity after this performance.

James Tavernier 6 – Spent large portions of the match in Morton’s half. Played in some threatening balls which the attackers failed to take advantage of.

Clint Hill 6 – Wasn’t helped by being partnered by Senderos at times. However, the 38-year-old was muc more assured than his teammate in the back foru.

Philippe Senderos 3 – Struggled for game time under Mark Warburton and it was clear why. Caught ball watching for the opening goal and was far out of position. An abysmal display from the 31-year-old.

Lee Wallace 6 – Defended well, but struggled to influence the final third against the Scottish Championship side.

Andy Halliday 4 – Beaten too easily to the ball in the opening goal. A bad display from the often criticised midfielder.

Emerson Hyndman 7 – Helped his side maintain possession in the centre of the park. Was unfortunate to see a stunning shot in the first half hit the crossbar.

Jason Holt 6 – A very energetic performance from the midfielder. Raced up the pitch as well as helping his side win the ball back in an accomplished display.

Martyn Waghorn 8 – Showed the pace and power to beat a number of defenders. His final ball was often lacking, but he was in the right place to slot home the winner.

Kenny Miller 7 – The experienced man popped up when needed to score the equaliser for his team.

Barrie McKay 8 – Caused problems throughout the match and it was his saved shot after a fine run which brought the equaliser.
