Rangers player ratings v Motherwell: 23-year-old gets 9/10, new signing is 4/10

Pedro Caixinha will have taken plenty of positives from Rangers’ narrow 2-1 win over Motherwell at Fir Park on Sunday afternoon.

The Gers picked up their first Scottish Premiership points of the season in their first league game, with a brace coming from new signing Graham Dorrans.

Rangers’ number 10 Dorrans gave the 54-time Scottish champions the lead just four minutes into the match, as he lashed home a Kenny Miller knockdown from 15 yards out.

However, the Gers were pulled back before half time as Ben Heneghan headed home a Craig Tanner cross at the back post before Dorrans scored a second from the penalty spot.

The win sees Pedro Caixinha’s side get their 2017-18 campaign back on track after already being knocked out of the Europa League by European minnows Progres Niedercorn.
