Rangers player ratings v Motherwell: Birthday boy 8/10 as Murty masterminds win
COMMENT
Rangers got back to winning ways on Wednesday night as Graeme Murty masterminded a 2-0 win over Motherwell at Ibrox in the Scottish Premiership.
Goals from Danny Wilson and Alfredo Morelos secured three points on a cold night in Glasgow as Murty’s side looked to bounce back from consecutive defeats.
After a scoreless first-half, Wilson fired the Gers into a deserved lead before Morelos double the Gers’ tally with his 13th goal of the season.
A serious-looking injury picked up by Ryan Jack will have Murty sweating ahead of Saturday’s trip to Celtic Park in the second Old Firm derby of the season.
A much-changed side from the one which lost to Kilmarnock on Saturday, the Gers looked much more capable against Stephen Robinson’s Steelmen despite never really hitting their stride at Ibrox.
The win closes to gap on Scottish Premiership leaders Celtic to 11 points with one game left before Scotland’s top-flight enters its annual winter shutdown.
