Rangers poised to sign prolific striker after confirmed news – sources
Rangers are working on signing a prolific striker in the upcoming summer window, sources have told Football Insider.
It is believed Philippe Clement is keen to strengthen and add more goals to his attack as he plots another challenge for the Scottish Premiership title next term.
Rangers confirmed the departure of Kemar Roofe on Saturday (1 June) after the expiry of his contract at Ibrox.
Meanwhile, Football Insider revealed last month (19 May) that loanee Fabio Silva will return to Wolves – with Clement’s side set to scrap a permanent move for the 21-year-old.
Other forwards Cyriel Dessers and Danilo, who were signed by Michael Beale last summer (2023), remain at the club – while Sam Lammers will return from his loan at Utrecht for pre-season.
Rangers prioritise prolific striker deal after Roofe and Silva exits
Clement is keen to strengthen his attacking arsenal and has prioritised a deal for a prolific forward who can help Rangers challenge rivals Celtic next term.
It is believed securing a deal before the Ibrox club enters the Champions League qualifying stages in mid-August is seen as key by transfer chiefs.

Right-back James Tavernier was the club’s top scorer in the 2023-24 campaign, hitting 24 strikes across all competitions.
Dessers (22) and Abdullah Sima (16) were also important contributors for the Glasgow giants – who finished eight points behind Celtic in the Scottish Premiership.
