Welshman got forward and, like Tavernier on the opposite flank, caused problems for the Dundee defence.
Final ball wasn’t great as the Gers struggled to make their chances count and take the lead.
John is such an important part of how the Gers attack and will be key for Graeme Murty’s side next weekend against Celtic at Hampden.
