27-year-old flop big reason why Caixinha was axed: Rangers summer signings rated

Bruno Alves

Bruno Alves was the most recognisable name to arrive at Ibrox over the summer when he signed on a free from Serie A side Cagliari.

Alves missed the Europa League humiliation against Progres Niederkorn as he was away with Portugal at the Confederations Cup in Russia.

The big defender has been a mainstay in the starting XI although found himself on the bench for last weekend’s win over Partick Thistle.

Alves as made 11 appearances so far for the Gers but has been something of a disappointment for Rangers fans.

Despite having a reputation as a imposing defender, Alves has been bullied on a few occassions as he’s struggled to get to grips with the physical side of Scottish football.
