Rangers ‘scared’ of Alfredo Morelos after what Glasgow pundit has seen
Rangers have “run out of time” with Alfredo Morelos.
That’s according to former Celtic striker Frank McAvennie, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about Morelos’ future at Ibrox.
As shared by the FootballScotland (1 December), the 26-year-old was back with a smile on his face in training under new boss Michael Beale.
The new boss worked closely with the striker during his spell at Ibrox under Steven Gerrard and will be hoping to return him to his best.
The Colombia international has entered the final six months of his contract with the Light Blues.
As quoted by the Daily Record (3 December), Ibrox Sporting Director Ross Wilson said the side are “comfortable” with the “direction of travel” with players’ contracts.
McAvennie slammed the Light Blues for failing to get Morelos back to his best.
“I do not understand why the manager does not say to Morelos he needs to do extra training to get his fitness up,” he told Football Insider.
“Maybe they are scared of his agent. They have got that many fitness coaches going about now, they can’t be any good. They must drive him to McDonald’s or something for his coaching. I do not get it.
“He is the only guy who is training extra and putting weight on. I think Morelos was their main guy, I do not think he is anymore. They have just run out of time with him.

“He might be running round the training ground as we speak. I hope so because I like good football players and he is a good football player.
“I would hate to see him go down and fade away. I would like to see him playing again, hopefully not against Celtic.“
