Rangers set to finalise £15m triple swoop in ‘amazing’ spree – expert
Rangers will complete all their summer transfer business in the coming weeks.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Gers defender Alan Hutton said Michael Beale won’t wait to see if they can secure Champions League qualification before spending more money on new signings.
The Light Blues have been targeting Feyenoord striker Danilo for a number of weeks and have already seen a bid of £4.5million rejected.
According to Dutch outlet 1908.nl (20 July), Rangers have made an improved offer of £5.2m for the 24-year-old.
Danilo’s current contract runs until 2026 but the Gers are pushing hard to lure him away from the Dutch club this summer.
Beale has already spent a combined £7m on two forward additions – Cyriel Dessers and Sam Lammers – and could be set to almost double that if they can bring in Danilo.
The Gers will play the first leg of their Champions League third qualifying round on either Tuesday 8 August or Wednesday 9 August.
Hutton insisted Beale will be hoping to have all of his business wrapped up by then.
“I think he wants them in now with a view to playing those [Champions League] games, it’s an amazing spree by Rangers’ standards,” he told Football Insider.

“I think he wants the strongest squad possible, he wants his targets in at this moment in time to work on them to make it into the Champions League.
“I do not think they will want to wait to get through the group stages to start spending again. That could be an option but I think he wants the strongest squad possible for those games.“
