‘Rangers star Nicolas Raskin wanted by Premier League clubs’
Rangers star Nicolas Raskin has been the subject of interest from a number of Premier League clubs ahead of the summer transfer window.
That is according to former Man United chief scout and Sir Alex Ferguson number two Mick Brown, who remains very well-connected within the game, as he exclusively told Football Insider that the 24-year-old has been tracked by English clubs’ scouts.
However, it is unclear how advanced their interest is and whether any of the interested parties would be prepared to make a move early in the transfer window.
This comes after Football Insider exclusively revealed in March that Leeds United could sign Raskin with help from 49ers Enterprises after their Ibrox takeover.
The Belgium midfielder has been a shining light despite a dismal season in Glasgow, but that has led to potential suitors rearing their heads.
However, concerns remain about the ever-growing gap between the SPFL and the Premier League and whether he is ready to make the step up.

Premier League clubs eyeing Nicolas Raskin deal with Rangers
Brown told Football Insider on 15 April that Leeds are planning for a busy transfer window with six new signings potentially on the cards at Elland Road.
The former scout who has a wealth of experience in top-level player recruitment after over a decade at Man United during their most successful period, explained that Raskin is being watched by a number of clubs who are set to make decisions about his future.
“Premier League sides have been looking at Raskin,” he told Football Insider.
“English clubs are always keeping an eye on the best players in Scotland.
“They’ve had scouts watching him both in Scotland and in the Europa League as they try to figure out whether he’s ready for the step up.
“Rangers have had a really poor season, they’ve been so inconsistent.
“What the clubs need to figure out is whether he’s been part of that inconsistency or he’s involved in it but not one of the reasons for it.
“There are a few doubts because of the difference between the SPFL and the Premier League.
“That gap in quality is always growing, and especially with Rangers at the moment.
“So he’s certainly got admirers, but I’m not sure whether they’ll be ready to make a move.”

Danny Rohl update emerges at Ibrox
Amid speculation about players potentially leaving Ibrox, Rangers’ main focus is on who will replace Barry Ferguson as their next permanent manager.
Sheffield Wednesday boss Danny Rohl has been linked with the position, but Football Insider revealed on 19 May that Rangers are unlikely to trigger Rohl’s release clause.
It is believed Rohl has a hefty, multi-million-pound release clause in his contract at Wednesday, which is set to run until June 2027.
That is despite Brown telling Football Insider on 12 May that Rohl could quit Sheffield Wednesday as he is interested in taking over at Ibrox.
