Rangers star Ryan Kent ‘will not go to Burnley’ after source’s offer reveal – pundit

Frank McAvennie has insisted Ryan Kent will not join Burnley if he leaves Rangers this summer.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Hoops striker likened Kent’s downturn in form to former Tottenham star Dele Alli.

Kent, 26, is out of contract at the end of the season and could quit Ibrox for free.

Last week (3 May), sources told this site that Turkish side Fenerbahce have joined Burnley in offering the winger a contract.

The Turkish side have offered Kent a four-year deal at the club and are hopeful of beating Vincent Kompany’s side to his signature.

On Friday (5 May), Football Insider revealed that the attacker would prefer a move to England ahead of next season but Fenerbahce have not given up on convincing him of a move.

But McAvennie has claimed the soon-to-be Premier League side will be put off Kent after recent performances.

He will not go to Burnley,” he told Football Insider.

If Kompany takes Kent and gets him going then I will call him Paul Daniels.

He reminds me of Dele Alli because he was such a good talent and I was thinking he could do well. All of a sudden he went back the way.

Rangers

He is getting good money and he looks as if he is not interested. It is like that classic example of Dele Alli, look at how good he was and then nothing.

I do not get why they can’t do what they used to. I do not know where Kent is going to go from here.
