Kieran Maguire: Castore ‘desperate’ to keep hold of ‘top-roster’ Rangers as new deal struck

Castore remain “desperate” to keep Rangers sweet despite having expanded their portfolio of football clubs in recent times.

That is the view of finance guru Kieran Maguire, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the future of the Rangers-Castore relationship.

Rangers were the kit manufacturer’s flagship enterprise when they first embarked on a five-year technical sponsorship deal in May 2020.

But the Liverpool-based firm have since struck deals with Newcastle United and Wolves, as well as several high-profile agreements outside football.

And, as relayed by SportsPro on Thursday (10 February), 3rd-place Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen are the latest side to join the Castore fold.

But Maguire does not believe that Rangers will slip down the pecking order of Castore’s priorities.

“They are still part of their top roster,” he told Football Insider‘s Adam Williams.

“They have got these clubs at the top table and ideally they will be desperate to keep them all.

“We’ve seen Rangers say they want to maintain that relationship with Castore. They are fully aware of the success in terms of merchandise sales.

“If they qualify or the Champions League next year, there will be another boost there. So they are top table and that’s to be expected given their status.”

There were initial problems with quality control with the Castore-Rangers deal but they have since been eliminated.

Castore have also supplied products to commemorate the reigning Scottish champions’ 150th anniversary this year.
