Rangers struck by Ibrox ‘disaster’ as stars head for the exit door – sources
Rangers are shrouded in chaos this summer over the build-up of issues surrounding the redevelopment of Ibrox.
This is according to Football Insider journalist and Scottish expert Daniel Bowers, speaking to Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast [28 June].
The club were hoping to complete renovation work on areas of the stadium – most notably the Copland Road Stand – but delays in receiving materials and further difficulties mean Ibrox is unlikely to be ready for the start of the 2024-25 season.
Bowers describes the saga as a “disaster” for Rangers, with many problems building up which put the stadium’s preparation in serious doubt for fixtures both domestically and for Champions League qualifying matches.
Rangers in serious Ibrox problems
Bowers brands the situation as escalating into a “shambles” which Rangers simply cannot afford to be dealing with.
Philippe Clement and the recruitment staff have an almighty task on their hands this summer on a footballing note, with a huge squad rebuild required.
It was claimed by Bowers that there are financial concerns as well as the risk of players not having the security of a structured routine at the club, as some potentially even head for the exit door.

Whilst supporter feeling is at an “all-time low” at Ibrox following the conclusion to last season on the pitch, it is considered imperative that the club sort out a wildfire situation to prevent it having a significantly damaging impact into 2024-25.
With a pre-season match set to be played 48 miles away at Murrayfield against Manchester United on 20 July, a clear signal has been given as to the immediate plans for where the Light Blues will play their football in the near future.
