Rangers takeover ‘imminent’ as ‘deal expected to go through after 4-month talks’

Rangers could see a takeover of the club completed imminently amid talks over a move by 49ers Enterprises, Keith Jackson has said.

It has been a difficult period for the Gers, who have had to see Auld Firm rivals Celtic dominate in terms of domestic success in Scotland in recent years.

Indeed, Rangers have struggled to raise funds through player sales recently, with have not made it easyv for the club to reinvest in strengthening the squad in the transfer market.

Now however, it seems as though the Ibrox club could soon be set for major change that they will hope can help to turn things back in their favour.

He also indicated that the deal could provide the investment the club need amid the “financial clouds” that have been hanging over Rangers for many years now.

It also seems as though a takeover of the club may not be far from completion either. Discussing the potential timescale of a deal, Jackson added: “This isn’t early days stuff.

“The information that I received, my sources tell me that these talks are at an advanced stage, and something is potentially imminent.

“Amazed that it can be this late in the day without it leaking out from somewhere but now it has I guess”

Discussing how long those discussion may have been going for, Jackson elaborated: “I believe it stretches way back towards the end of last so you’re potentially talking now about four months worth of talks negotiations behind the scenes that this has been going on so it’s not just something that’s come to light.”

Outlining the make-up of the consortium bidding to buy Rangers, Jackson suggested that while Leeds chairman and 49ers investment guru Paraag Marathe is involved, there is at least “one other high net-worth individual” liked to the consortium, but that the 49ers are involved and backing the takeover.

Jackson also revealed that he expects a statement to confirm talks are ongoing “very, very shortly.”
