Rangers tipped to beat Braga after ‘crucial’ development spotted by pundit
Rangers will overturn the 1-0 deficit in the second leg of their Europa League quarter-final against Braga.
That’s according to former Leeds United stopper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider after the Gers slumped to defeat in Portugal.
Abel Ruiz, 22, scored the only goal of the game as Rangers struggled to break down a firm Braga defence on Thursday (7 April).
The loss came after a difficult week for the club, in which Celtic moved six points clear at the top of the Premiership table following their win at Ibrox.
Kenny insists Rangers need a win under their belt after that Old Firm loss.
“I think Rangers will win, I think they need to win,” Kenny told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“The title race is over now, it would take a massive blow-up from Celtic to let them back in now.
“They also have Celtic in the cup semi-final so there are still things to play for.
“This might be the focus though, a European run is very lucrative to the club.
“When I saw the score, they have kept themselves in the game, that’s crucial. They lost 1-0 and they haven’t disgraced themselves.
“It’s a massive game at Ibrox but you know what it’s like under the lights up there.
“I would back them to get the job done. It will be a great game either way, I’m sure.”

Rangers welcome Braga to Ibrox next Tuesday (14 April).
Before that they face a league clash against St Mirren on Sunday (10 April).
