Rangers tipped to consider ‘ridiculous’ takeover offer after chief’s reveal – Hutton

Alan Hutton has tipped Rangers to “think about” a potential takeover of the club if there was a “ridiculous” offer on the table.

However, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Gers right-back is happy with the way the club are progressing and said the current board “look like a good group”.

On 11 September, the Herald reported that American businesswoman Kyle Fox has fronted a bid to part-own the Glasgow club.

Fox is said to have offered to buy at least 75% of Rangers’ shares at 25p per share, valuing the club at £108million.

Speaking to RangersTV (20 September), deputy chairman John Bennett insisted it is not “unusual” for the Ibrox club to be approached about potential takeovers.

Bennett said the club listen to “a lot of proposals” and see “no harm” in doing so.

Hutton is assured the Light Blues’ owners will make the right decision for the club.

After everything they’ve been through in the past I don’t think they would want one person with sole control of the club,” he told Football Insider.

I think the direction they’re going in at this moment in time suits them. But at the end of the day money talks. If somebody came in with a ridiculous offer I’m pretty sure they would think about it.

Rangers

When you look at all the people in charge at this moment in time, they look like a good group. They look like they’re progressing in a good way moving forward so I don’t think there’s any real need to upset that at this moment.

But, like I said I think they’ll take everything in, whether it be people trying to buy the club or whatever, and they’ll look at it and take it from there. At this moment in time I think it looks good though.

In other news, Rangers could sanction Fashion Sakala exit on one condition.
